Don't you just hate it when people take their kids with them to watch a movie.
...
I don't. But I think that's because I've never seen children go out of control in a cinema. But I've certainly seen plenty of people complain about it online.

Believe it or not, I've actually had this comic planned for years. That's right, I saw a My Little Pony movie coming years before its inception. I was even considering making and posting this comic for the Equestria Girls movie, but I had a feeling that there would be a proper movie. And boy was I right.

I don't mention My Little Pony much, because I don't want to be one of those obnoxious fans. And because someone warned me that I was going that way with one of my comics (which in hindsight, I kind of agree). But I just had to do this comic. Especially since this is how expect most Bronies to react. Hee hee.

At the time of writing this, I watched the movie yesterday. And my thoughts are... the movie was decent. Not great, a little bit disappointing in fact, but it was decent. I thought the animation was absolutely fantastic! And is a really great example of why we need more 2D animated films. The music was fitting, not quite epic enough for a movie, but it was still pretty great. And I thought that overall the movie was faithful to the TV show (which was to be expected, but you've got to give credit where credit is due).

The part where I think the movie falls apart is the plot. It's just so unfocused. First they introduce a setting and some characters, then you say goodbye to the setting and say hello to a new setting and a new character, then you say goodbye to that setting and character, then you say hello to some new characters and a new setting, then you say goodbye to those as well, then you yet again say hello to some new characters and a new setting before yet again saying goodbye. Finally you say hello to the first setting again and say hello to all of the characters you said goodbye to, and then it ends. That is literally word for word what happens in the movie.

Overall, the movie felt like more of an excuse to introduce as many characters and settings as possible for toys. Which is something you expect from a TV show, but definitely not of a movie. And heck, the TV show at least handles it better. As such, I give the movie 3 out of 5 stars.
Unfortunately most bronies will go head over heels for anything with ponies in it. Which can be easily proven by how easily impressed they are by crappy and quickly made games using store bought Unity Assets that star a pony as a protagonist. The pony never even fits aesthetically with the rest of the game!
Ah well, here's hoping the next movie will be better. And yes, there will be another movie.

By the way, did I mention how great the animation was?
Because it was really REALLY great. I can't stress that enough. The whole movie was beautiful to simply look at.

Lol! So true!
I think the times kids annoyed me in cinemas is when they kick my chair Rage
I dunno if I will see this film, I would go if it was worth it, but maybe not now after hearing your review, so thanks for giving me a heads up :)
