I understand why there isn't a nightvision mode, because it would unbalance the game. But why are you carrying a camera on that game?
Yeah, I can tell that it's trying to copy those crappy films which look like they're all recorded by some idiot holding a camera. But you're supposed to be looking for your friend.
If you truly think about it, on that game, you're either playing a complete idiot, or a jackass. No really, think about it. There's only two real reasons why you would be carrying a camera with you. The first is because you know Slenderman is there, which would make you an idiot, because you should've brought a weapon like a shotgun instead. The second reason is if you thought that it'd be cool to record your attempts to look for your friend, so you can post it on YouTube and be a hit sensation, which would make you a jackass because you clearly don't give crap about finding your friend.
There is another possibility. That the character just thinks that there might be some sort of bad guy (human or otherwise) waiting in those woods, and wants to take a camera to make sure people will know what happened. But in that case, the character is still an idiot for not bringing a weapon of some kind.
I don't know if weapons would work on Slenderman, but I do know a weapon of any kind will give you more courage than no weapon at all.
And besides, who WOULDN'T want to shoot a gun at Slenderman (even if it is a futile attempt).
Oh, and a side note. In Britain, we call Flashlights "Torches". Hopefully this clears up any confusion in the wording.
Honestly, I think we just decided to reuse the word "Torch", because the modern one's just kind of replaced the old ones.
And besides, you only ever flash them when you're doing Morse code.
